National Roof Group will not allow members to join who do not disclose their contact information. This site will not have any "anonymous" or "guest" members who are allowed to view or post. Should your account become banned or suspended, your ability to post in this forum will be lost.

Below you will find a few items that are expected of you in the NRG Forum. Let's build a friendly, helpful forum where contractors can ask real questions, and get real answers.

ALWAYS ASSUME THE BEST:

It's really easy to misread someone's post in an online forum situation. In this forum I expect you to conduct yourselves like adults and professionals. While your posts should be civil and helpful, when reading a post, you should also expect the best intentions from the poster. If you have a doubt about a poster's intentions toward you, send them a PM and keep your arguments out of the forum. A good rule of thumb would be: If you feel anger as you are responding to a post, send them an email or PM before you start a public fight. Keep it out of the forums if possible.

NO ALTER EGOS:
Alter egos and fake names will not be tolerated in this forum. Remember that we can see the IP addresses of all users in this forum, so please do not try it. Doing so will result in the suspension of both accounts.

NO RACIAL SLURS:
Racial slurs and the like will not be tolerated. You never know who might be reading. While you may not care, we do. Doing so will result in suspension of your member status.

POLITICAL AND OFF-TOPIC POSTS... ONLY IN THEIR PLACE
Political posts and off-topic posts should only be made in the appropriate forum. No exceptions. Political posts or cut-n-pastes will be moved into the political part of this forum by a moderator. If you continue after being warned... well, you get the idea.

NEVER BEAT UP THE NEWBIES... FOR ANY REASON:
We suspect that this is a tradition of initiation that takes place in many other forums. Not here. You WILL NOT beat up the new guys simply because they are new. Let's establish a community where business owners like ourselves can ask a question without fear of being attacked.

DO NOT TREAT OTHERS POORLY!
Act like an idiot in this forum and you will be handed your hat and asked to leave. If you do not do so, you will be escorted out by six very large men who tear off 100 squares every day.

Please don't test us on this ladies and gentlemen. If you want to act like a moron, there are some other roofing forums we can recommend where that sort of thing is encouraged.

As an NRG Vendor Member, you have the opportunity to reach a large segment of roofing professionals through various means of advertising. This forum is but one of those forms, however you need to understand what is expected of your behavior here.

Vendor Members are allowed to post about what they offer ONLY in the Vendor Member Q and A section of this site, unless they are directly asked a question in the regular forum about their product or service. For example, if there is a question posed in the roofing portion of this forum and it is specifically asking you a question about your product or service, you are allowed to answer that question. If a Contractor Member is asking a question about another product that directly competes with your own, you are NOT ALLOWED to try to turn them away from that product by selling your own. If you question whether or not a post can be construed as this action, don't post it.

You are NOT ALLOWED to start (or redirect) a topic in any forum about your company, new releases of products, sales, or anything attempting to sell a product that you offer. Please call or email us about these opportunities.

Feel free to comment and help Contractor Members within your areas of expertise, but keep comments that can be construed as advertising out the common portions of this forum.

Our intent with this forum is to bridge the gap that has become commonplace between manufacturers and contractors. We allow you to advertise to our members in a way that benefits everyone involved. However, we do not want this site to turn people away because they feel like they are constantly being sold something. Most people who have been online for more than a day expect a certain amount of advertising in order to keep a site afloat, but once it becomes annoying they will not return.
